Hello to all fellow Good Sam Members:

We hope this letter finds everyone well and enjoyed a safe summer.  It’s that time of
year again, that our Florida Chapters will start camping and greeting our friends back
after a three month vacation.

Reba and I were able to camp with some of the chapters over the summer and get
different ideas and opinions about Florida Good Sams.  Even though we may be the
State Director, and it seems like we are always busy, we are not able to get anything
done without your help and opinions.  We do listen and welcome your thoughts positive
or negative.

We have been working getting ready for our November Samboree.  As you know, we
have a new campground with full hookups and we don’t have to worry about security, or
traffic on Highway 50.  Some of our chapters have already camped at Wekiva Falls and
voiced their concerns.  The staff has informed me that progress is going well, and the
building is ½ completed as you read this note.  Heidi, Gary, Tyler and the entire staff of
Wekiva Falls always welcome all of our chapters.  They are looking forward for our
samboree .  This will be our first time to hold a samboree at this campground, so things
will seem different.  We will be limited as far as building space, and a tent will be available
for our entertainment.  Even though Wekiva has over 700 campsites available, we feel
that for our first year we will limit the samboree to 400 sites.  Once the 400 sites have
been filled we will have a waiting list.  All other plans are underway with vendors, dealers,
entertainment, seminars, and catered meal for Saturday night.  Friday night after
entertainment, there will be a special memorial service for our friends and family members
that we have lost over the last year.

There will also be a state committee meeting at our November Samboree Thursday
Nov. 19, 2009.  All chapter presidents will be receiving their president packet by email,
rather than US mail.  Any president that doesn’t have a computer will receive a phone
call, forwarded by a mailed packet.  Presidents or a delegate from your chapter are
required, per Florida State By Laws, to attend one state committee meeting per year.  We
ask that someone to be there, so your chapter will be up to date as to what is going on at
the state level.

Congratulations to all of the chapters that celebrated milestone anniversaries this
year, all of the certificates will be passed out at our Fall Samboree.

Again, we ask you to keep our troops, and ill loved ones on our prayer list.

Happy camping and see you soon.
Bob & Reba Ward
