The Getaway Sams Chapter #69 started coming in on Thursday…John and Sue Johnson, Mary and Paul
Frederick, Hank and Rita Pelz and Sandra and Bob McKinley.  Also Al and Della Richardson were there even
though Al had to leave early Friday to go to that nasty thing called work.  Harriet had trouble with her rig and
went back home from Starke.  Sharon also broke a water hose and had to have her rig towed in for service.
Some of us went to the Iron Skillet for dinner.  Friday morning Bob had the coffee ready at 7:00 a.m. for Hank.
Everyone else showed up a little later for the Danish and muffins.  John, Sue and Della went shopping.  Hank
and Rita toured the area looking for any bargains they could find.  We were joined on Friday by Frank and
Linda Diegel, making their second campout.  Friday night we enjoyed a dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, and
potato salad.  Al made it back from work just in time to get a hamburger.  Saturday morning Bob started the
bacon and eggs, while Paul made sausage gravy and biscuits.  The Fredericks and McKinleys had to run to
Ocala for a meeting.  Everyone else finished their breakfast and cleaned up for us.  Thank you!  We got back
from the meeting in time to put the meatloaf for dinner in the oven.  Sue also put in some cookies and Della
made her famous baked beans.  Sharon drove in to join us with Pam and Macy.  Dinner in addition to the
meatloaf consisted of smashed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob, eggplant and other delicious side dishes.
Cookies, watermelon and Della’s cake rounded out the meal and all of us.Since Sharon was driving back home
that evening, we had the devotion Saturday evening.  As usual, Sharon did a wonderful job.  John and the
Diegels enjoyed a cooling swim in the pool while Hank, Rita, Sue and Sandra played cards.Sunday morning
everyone was up and moving to head home.  Another great weekend shared with friends.

Ron’s Ramblins   -  Well, we finally got away from Jacksonville the middle of July and were back in town by the
first week in August.  We made it to Kentucky to visit with my Dad, brothers, aunts and a cousin before heading
back.  We did manage a stop in Renfro Valley, KY for a week.  Renfro Valley is a country music entertainment
area just off of I-75 about 60 miles south of Lexington.  They have some sort of musical entertainment almost
every day of the week and two campgrounds,  One is for 30 amp rigs and has a little more shade.  The other is
more open, but has all 50 amp service. We enjoyed getting away, but the weather was so hot we didn’t get out
of the rig much.  It looks like between our health issues and the weather, we will be curtailing our camping more
than we would like to.All in all, it’s good to get back in the rig and we look forward to seeing everyone at Pecan
Park.  See ya in a couple of weeks   Ron, Trina & Shadow too

SUNSET RAMBLERS
June 2011
The Sunset Ramblers had three rigs present for our June campout at Suwannee Valley Campground in White
Springs, Florida.  We enjoyed the supper put on by the campground Friday night.  The ice social for dessert
was a hit with all.  Saturday morning everyone took their time getting up and about.  We enjoyed gathering in
the late morning for some fellowship time.  In the afternoon one the couples went to visit friends in the local
area.  The others enjoyed a leisurely afternoon in the shade.  We repaired a small job on one rig and took the
time to sew on the rally bars we received in May.  We enjoyed a great supper.  We broke out the grill and
everyone cooked their meat and we shared wonderful side dishes.  The fellowship and conversation was lively.
There was a nice breeze to keep away the bugs.  We lived up to our helpful reputation and helped a
neighboring rig get his motor home stairs stay in so he could drive home safely.  We are looking forward to our
next campout at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park in Citrus County, Florida.  Everyone is always welcome to come
and visit with us.  We would love to visit for the day or camp with you for the weekend.  Please give Leo Nadeau
a call at 904-771-2762 to join us as we gather for food, fun and fellowship.

July 2011
The Sunset Ramblers had 5 member rigs and 2 guest rigs present for our July campout at Rock Crusher
Canyon RV Park in Citrus County, Florida.  We gathered as best we could between the summer rains that
joined us for most of the weekend.  We decided to checkout a local restaurant Friday night to avoid eating in
the rain.  We had a great time talking over dessert in Chick and Debby’s rig.  Saturday morning we gathered in
a building for our meeting as we welcomed two guest rigs.  We gathered outside that afternoon at Rich and
Jeannie’s rig.  Miss Ann, one of our members, who lives in the local area, stopped by to visit with her son and
daughter-in-law.   She was quickly followed by former members Sue Meyer, and Bob and Reba Ward.  It was
wonderful to have so many of our friends gathered in one place.  Later that night we gathered in the building
for a wonderful supper.  It was great to see so many faces around the table.  We enjoyed a game of nickels
before we called it quits for the night.  We packed up quickly Sunday morning trying to beat the rain.  We are
looking forward to our next campout at Coastal GA RV Resort in Brunswick, GA, August 12-14.  Everyone is
always welcome to come and visit with us.  We would love to visit for the day or camp with you for the weekend.
Please give Leo Nadeau a call at 904-771-2762 to join us as we gather for food, fun and fellowship.

August 2011
The Sunset Ramblers had 5 rigs present for our August campout at Coastal GA RV Resort in Brunswick, GA.
We enjoyed our stay by their lake where you could watch the fish jump.  We helped each other out by working
on several rigs to solve a couple of small issues.  We checked out a local campground for a possible future
campout.  We helped the local community by shopping in several of the local stores and restaurants.  We
gathered many times for wonderful food and fellowship.  We even gathered a couple of times to enjoy a game
together in the air conditioning.  We are looking forward to our next campout with our friends from North Florida
Lifetime Sam’s at Grand Lake Golf & RV Resort in Citra, FL, September 2-5.  Everyone is always welcome to
come and visit with us.  We would love to visit for the day or camp with you for the weekend.  Please give our
president Leo Nadeau a call at 904-771-2762 to join us as we gather for food, fun and fellowship.
