November 26, 2011

Hello to all Good Sam Members:

Reba and I would like to thank everyone that attended the Fall Samboree, for your
attendance and all the help from the chapters and individuals to make this a great
time.  It was nice to see our old friends and meet some new ones since last May.

At this samboree we had over 30 first timers from Florida and 15 out of state Good
Sam Members.  Final count of RV’s parked was 378.  After talking with the vendors and
RV dealers it appears that our vendors and dealers did very well.  Again thank you for
supporting our vendors and dealers, for without them it would make the samboree’s a
little tight with the finances.

It was great to see so many chapters step up to donate door prizes and volunteer
their time.  Let none of us forget that our chapters are the backbone of Florida Good
Sam’s.  We now have a new chapter of the year.  This year we received three chapter of
the year books.  These books were presented by Trail Blazing Sam’s, Rolling Sam’s,
and Jax Rambling Sam’s.  While all of these chapters are very deserving with all the
many things they do, it gave me the great honor to announce that Jax Rambling is the
Chapter of the year for 2012.

The state committee meeting went well as it could be.  Thank you to the 44
presidents and representatives that attended.  At the spring samboree,  I informed the
committee that the elections for State Director and State Treasurer will be coming up
and ask the chapter representatives,  if anyone would be interested at this meeting to
come forth.  I only received one letter from Joe and Debbie Weston for the State
Director Office.  The
Weston’s were given time to speak.  Linda Voyton also sent a
letter for the position of State Treasurer again.  This turned into a long discussion, see
the minutes posted on the web page.

If you were not at this samboree you missed one of the best chapter parades in a
long time.  We had seven chapters participate.  Everyone did a wonderful job in staying
with the Thanksgiving theme.  Our stage decorations were done by Lake Eola Sam’s,
with all the fall colors displayed beautifully.

Southern Palm’s RV Resort was a new location for our samboree this year.
Manger, Robin Allen, and her entire staff greeted Florida Good Sam’s with open arms
and all the help we needed to have our samboree.  Southern Palm’s was very
hospitable and I’m looking forward to being there again next year.

With all said and done 2011 was a great year for Florida Good Sam’s.  We are
looking forward for 2012 with our first samboree at the Rodeheaver Boy’s Ranch,
February 29 to March 4, 2012, with early bird February 28 in Palatka, Florida.  We
moved the samboree to the end of the month hoping it won’t be so cold.  The ranch
has replaced the floor this year and it is now all concrete.

Thank you and Happy Holidays.
